Breastfeeding

One of the first decisions new parents make is how to feed their new born. Many health professionals agree that the ideal method is breastfeeding, though for some women this is not the best choice for physical, health, or personal reasons. For some mothers, breastfeeding is an easy transition. For others it may take some time and patient before the process is a smooth one.It is perfectly normal for it to take some time and practice. A lactation consultant should visit you in the hospital to help you get started. Even though breastfeeding is not your only option, there are many benefits to using this method to nourish your new born in the beginning. Breastfeeding can aid the physical, emotional, and, practical needs of both the baby and the mother.

An important decision all parents make is how they will feed their baby. Comfort with what is familiar to us and common in our own culture often influences our decision. Yet many parents wish to provide their baby with the best possible start in life, including the optimal feeding relationship perfected over the millennial for human babies. Although most people must heard that "breast is best", few are aware of the extent of the advantages that breastfeeding provides the entire family. Human milk is all that healthy babies need from birth through the first half-year of life, and should remain in a significant of a baby's diet for many more months beyond. A breastfeeding infant receives ideal nutrition and numerous health promoting factors that vary throughout each feeding and as babies needs change. Breast milk increases in fat content during each feeding. Babies get to experience different tastes as human milk may be flavored by the foods mother eats, enhancing later food acceptance.

Parents of new baby have a million things to do, but menu planning isn't usually a top priority. Until that baby is four to six months old, for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even the infamous middle-of-the-night feeding, the menu items are either breast milk or infant formula. For any woman planning to have children, making the decision of how to feed their baby is a crucial one. It needs to be made long before that baby is conceived.The nutrition a baby receives in the first months of life is what gives it a good or bad start. For each mother that brings a child home from the hospital, a choice must be made that will affect the rest of the child's life. The question is often raised whether an infant raised on formula is as healthy and advantaged as an infant raised on mother's milk. There are some arguments, but on the whole experts agree on one one thing. To really come to a conclusion, all the benefits, effects, the harms of both infant formula and breast milk must be considered.
