Second Grading: Reflection

Second grading is almost over. We are again to step on a new chapter of our high school life which is the third quarter and the second to the last quarter that we must undergo. As I think about it, it feels like I would lose a big part of my life. Few months to go before we go. Few months before we leave our Alma mater. But then, we must go on and as this journey continues, the happiness, joy and knowledge that I'm gaining also continues.

As what I've said before, ICT is one of the subjects I love. It's because of the joy that I feel during our class. I am very comfortable inside the Computer laboratory not because of the computers and the aircon but it's because of the bonding between us and our subject teacher. I can easily go through with the class and as we learn, we are enjoying. That is why I love it. To our subject teacher, Mrs. Vera Cruz, I can tell you nothing because you are really an amazing teacher that every student wants to have. This is all that I can tell to you this time ma'am. :)

"Where do I begin? Probably before the school year even started, when I heard such nice things about you. Based on popular opinion, I expected great things this year and I have not been disappointed. I wish I'd had a chance to say a proper thank you in person to you for being such a fantastic teacher. I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your class this year. I know it's not easy to teach a bunch of crazy students like us but you managed to keep us all interested and we even had fun. I wish all my teachers were like you. Thank you for teaching a great class this year. I learned a lot and know you helped prepare me for next year. Thanks for always being patient and in a good mood. I always looked forward to class.I hope you know how much I'll miss you next year! I really loved your class and know I learned a ton. You have a way of making dry subjects really interesting. I only hope some of my college teachers can be half as good as you. What would we do without you? Who else has the patience to deal with miscellaneous people passing in and out of their work space all day and hundreds of random requests? We are very lucky to have you in our school office. We hope you know how much we appreciate your hard work!"

Promoting Digital Literacy Through English Proficiency

Digital literacy is our ability to manipulate these products of technology that are connected with literature such as computers, laptops, televisions and many more. It is true that these high-tech products are greatly needed today especially for the students like us. Because of this so-called digital literacy, we can now accomplish so many tasks easier and faster.

As we go through, one question has been bothering my mind, it is regarding the connection of English proficiency to Digital literacy. We all know that English is our Universal language and those high-tech gadgets are named with English terms. So, how can we understand and how can we learn to use it if we can't understand what's written? To become a digital literate is to be an English proficient. We should master first and be used to use our Universal language because it is very important in our daily living.

Either in schooling or in business, digital literacy and English proficiency are but important, so we should be aware of the importance and the role of these two in our lives and surely it will take us to the right path next to success.
